Curate AI is an educational platform designed to turn scattered video lectures and course topics into structured, distraction-free, chronological syllabi with autonomous progress tracking, study scheduling, and comprehension readiness checks.
We are committed to transparent data practices, data minimization, and honoring your fundamental rights to privacy and control over your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account registration details (name, email address, password hash for credential signups).
- Study goals, daily focus targets (e.g., 30 minutes daily), and study schedule preferences.
- Course notes, interactive deliverable checklist progress, and feedback submissions.
- Your full name and primary email address (to authenticate your account and identify your learner workspace).
- Your Google profile picture URL (to display your avatar within your personal learning header).
- Your unique Google subject identifier (`sub`) for secure OAuth token validation.
- Course enrollments, module completion status, quiz submissions, and active learning streaks.
- Study session records (date, time, duration, and calendar export timestamps).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely for legitimate educational and service purposes:
- To create, authenticate, and maintain your authorized learner account.
- To synthesize personalized course syllabi, lesson modules, and comprehension checkpoints based on your chosen tracks.
- To track and persist your course progress, completed modules, learning streaks, and unlocked competency badges.
- To manage your study calendar blocks and send transactional study schedule reminders via our verified email pipeline (
noreply@curateai.site). - To provide customer support and respond to inquiries sent to
support@curateai.site.
Curate AI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In strict adherence to the Google Limited Use requirements, Curate AI explicitly guarantees the following:
- No Advertising: We never use or transfer Google user data to serve personalized, re-targeted, or interest-based advertisements.
- No Generalized AI Model Training: We do not use user data obtained through Google APIs to train, retrain, or fine-tune generalized, non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Strict Human Access Limits: We do not allow humans to read user Google data unless: (1) we have obtained your affirmative, explicit consent for specific troubleshooting; (2) it is strictly necessary for security purposes (such as investigating an urgent vulnerability or abuse); (3) to comply with applicable law; or (4) the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
- Calendar Integration: When you schedule a study session, our application offers 1-click Google Calendar web event creation URLs (
calendar.google.com/calendar/render) and universal RFC 5545.icsfiles with lockscreen alert triggers. We only create event entries requested by you.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data to third parties.
We share information only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the application:
- Cloud & Database Hosting: Secure cloud database infrastructure for persisting authorized learner records and encrypted credentials.
- Transactional Email Service (Brevo): We use Brevo to dispatch welcome emails, course completion milestones, and user-configured study schedule reminders from
noreply@curateai.site. Only your name, email, and scheduled session title/time are transmitted for dispatch. - Educational Video Streaming: Educational videos are streamed directly from YouTube via standard embedded player iframes in compliance with the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety, security, and rights of our users and the public.
6. Data Retention, Security & User Deletion Rights
We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest) to protect your personal data.
Revoking Google Permissions: You can revoke Curate AI's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account Security Settings.
Account Deletion: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account, course history, study schedules, and notes. To request deletion, send an email from your registered address to support@curateai.site with the subject line "Delete My Account." We will permanently delete your personal information within 30 days of receiving your request.
7. Children's Privacy (Curate Kids & Supervised Sessions)
Curate AI provides an optional supervised learner mode for younger students ("Curate Kids"). Child accounts are created and supervised under verified adult/parent accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
